The RINOs apparently plan to pass HJR 86 instead of SJR 74. The problem with HJR 86 is that it is unconstitutional and will ultimately fail.

There were 18 who supported the bill. All were registered lobbyists or direct representatives of utility companies. Notice Amy Blunt is the first listed. That was as far as our lawmakers probably needed to go.
They passed the bill out of committee before the other 118 citizens even finished submitting their testimony!

Bottom line: Lobbyists rule, and you don't matter, at least until the next election.

Today marked a big win for utility companies as the House pushed through SB 4. This bill was rushed out of the Utility Committee on Monday, before the testimony period even closed—ignoring the chance to hear and address the concerns of everyday citizens. There were viable alternatives to tackle our energy challenges, but lawmakers chose to listen solely to utility company lobbyists, siding with them over the people. Testimony revealed that if this bill passes, the average Missouri household could face a $96 monthly increase. A tough day for Missourians. Check how your representative voted below! #moleg

🚨 **UPDATE on HB 507: Still a Threat to Election Integrity** 🚨
HB 507 was voted out of the House Rules Committee this morning, clearing its way to come to the House floor soon. The latest version, the Committee substitute for HB 507 has made some changes, but ACT4MO is still firmly opposed.
Here’s why these updates fall short—or even make things worse:
Penalties Language: The Committee substitute for HB 507 does make some changes to the language, importantly removing “alarm” from the definition of harassment of the election worker section. They also lower the penalty from a felony to a misdemeanor. These changes are in the right direction, but if this bill passes, it will still stifle free speech and put those who legitimately question election results or procedures at risk.
Weakened Notification: After electronic submission, physical copies of election notices are no longer required. This risks less transparency in our elections.
Filing Deadlines: A slight tweak moves candidacy deadlines if they fall on a holiday.
Absentee Voting Shift: Covered voters now submit federal postcard applications at polling places instead of the election authority’s office. This could mean more confusion for voters like our military.
HB 507 still threatens election integrity and our ability to question election officials. These changes aren’t enough—we still need to oppose it!
