Great news! Governor Kehoe has withdrawn Dr. Tom Prater’s appointment to the Missouri Board of Education!

A Pattern of Progressive Endorsements

Dr. Prater’s tenure in Springfield’s public life reveals a troubling pattern of supporting candidates who prioritize ideological agendas over core educational outcomes. Notably, Prater endorsed Shurita Thomas-Tate for the Springfield School Board, a member whose work as a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) consultant has drawn criticism for emphasizing social initiatives over academic rigor.

Similarly, Prater backed Charles Taylor, a school board candidate whose platform aligns with progressive ideals, according to local observers. These endorsements suggest Prater favors leaders who may divert attention from pressing issues like math and reading proficiency or teacher shortages.
