The videos below are produced by the Missouri Ethics Commission. They explain basic terminology associated with campaign finance and show where to find campaign finance searches on the MEC’s website. Certain candidates and all committees are required to disclose their contributions received and expenditures made by filing regular campaign finance reports electronically with the MEC. These reports are available to the public and can be accessed by using the many searches on the Commission’s website.
The grassroots activists must learn how to use resources such as these themselves. People will make accusations and assume you will not go to the source. Spending 25 minutes or so to learn about a resource like this will take that power away from such individuals and, return the power to you, and allow you to judge yourself.
